As a licensed mental health counselor, I, Kate Guts, bring a unique blend of theoretical orientations, including somatic, polyvagal, humanistic, psychoanalytic, existential, and cognitive interventions to my work. My approach is centered around the principles of trauma-informed care, intersectional and anti-racist practices, and a neurobiological understanding of human development.

As a queer-identified clinician, I am particularly interested in serving the LGBTQIA+ community, and I am committed to working from an intersectional and anti-racist lens. I also specialize in providing kink-friendly and sex-positive counseling services to individuals and couples. Additionally, I work with romantic and sexual partners to foster deeper connections, improve communication, and increase intimacy and emotional expression.

My academic background includes a Master's degree in Existential Phenomenological Psychology and a second Master's degree in Human Development, focusing on somatics, phenomenology, and communicative leadership.
