Established in 1985, this family-operated winery offers a unique blend of tradition and innovation, crafting limited-production wines that capture the essence of the Monticello American Viticultural Area.

Our Journey Begins

Inspired by their experiences in the quaint German town of Bad Kreuzbach, Paul and Ruth Gorman planted four acres of vines in Afton, Virginia, featuring beloved Riesling and Cabernet Sauvignon. Over the years, their son Tim expanded the vineyard to 15 acres and became the head winemaker, showcasing his expertise in trellising systems and expanding the range of grape varieties.

Tim's passion for the craft is evident in his meticulous attention to every step of the winemaking process. Guided by his deep knowledge of viticulture and enology, he meticulously cultivates the vines and handcrafts each bottle of Cardinal Point wine.
