Transforming smiles and lives with exceptional dental care.
I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) and psychotherapist dedicated to providing services to individuals and couples in the greater Philadelphia area. My pronouns are he/him/his. My work is rooted in psychodynamic and relational ideas, which involves utilizing the unique relationship we develop to gain insights and healing. I focus on the present while maintaining a curiosity about how your past and unconscious motivations shape you. My approach is primarily long-term, but I am also open to addressing short-term challenges and solutions. I will listen closely to your needs and will share my questions and observations.
My fees are $160 per session for individuals and $180 for couples. I require a commitment to one 50-minute session each week. While I do not accept insurance, I can provide invoices if you would like to seek reimbursement from your insurance for out-of-network care.
I am interested in working with a diverse range of individuals, with a depth of experience working with college students, adults in their 20s and 30s, and LGBTQ people. I have experience with anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, obsessive thoughts, trauma, dissociation, sexual abuse, and substance use. I am currently pursuing training in relational psychoanalysis through the Institute for Relational Psychoanalysis of Philadelphia and have completed a three-year cycle of courses in complex trauma and dissociation from the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation.
Before becoming a therapist, I worked for over a decade in communications and legislative/grassroots advocacy on LGBTQ and domestic violence issues. I was also a stay-at-home parent. I graduated from Swarthmore College in 1999 and the Bryn Mawr College Graduate School of Social Work & Social Research in 2016. My Pennsylvania license number is CW020378.
Why Therapy?
People seek therapy for many reasons. Some have specific concerns, such as social anxiety or anger. Others want to better understand themselves. Some have a sense that they want therapy but aren't sure where to begin. The experience of therapy can vary widely, based on the relationship built and what you bring to sessions. As a therapist, my role is to help you:
1. Cope with distressing symptoms and the difficulties of life in today's world
2. Provide insight into how your experiences and relationships shape you
3. Explore identity and background, and how you have been impacted by systems of injustice and oppression
4. Articulate feelings and experiences that have previously felt unsayable
5. Begin to heal from past traumas
6. Find support during transitional periods in life
I draw upon my experience and clinical skills to help you accomplish these goals.
