Our Mission
At Happy Buddha Yoga, our mission is to make yoga accessible and enjoyable for all. We believe that yoga is a practice for everyone, regardless of age, experience level, or physical abilities. Our experienced and dedicated instructors strive to create a nurturing and encouraging atmosphere where students can connect with their body, breath, and inner peace.
Our Approach
We understand that there are many different styles and levels of yoga, and we offer a diverse range of classes to suit individual needs and preferences. While we've experimented with various class names, styles, and levels, we prioritize creating a space where everyone feels comfortable. Some classes may have a more challenging focus, while others cater to beginners or offer a gentler approach.
If you have any health concerns, need assistance, or have mobility limitations that may affect your participation, please reach out to us before class. We are always happy to discuss your needs and strive to accommodate individuals while maintaining the integrity of our diverse group practice.
Class Descriptions & Styles
We use key words to help you understand the flow and intensity of each class:
- FLOW: Generally indicates a Vinyasa style class. Vinyasa involves a sequence of postures linked together with breath, creating a dynamic and flowing practice. Sun salutations are often incorporated, along with warm-ups, standing poses, peak poses, cool-downs, and restorative ending poses. Modifications are available to make poses simpler, allowing for adjustments based on individual abilities.
- YIN: A style focusing on deep stretches and stillness. A Yin class typically involves holding poses for several minutes on each side, allowing for tissues to soften and releasing tension. Most Yin poses can be modified to suit individual flexibility, and props are often used to support the body. Poses are generally seated or lying down, promoting a sense of calm and mindfulness.
- COMBINATION: Some classes blend elements of different styles, offering a unique and varied practice.
