At Cordiano Winery, we are a family-owned and operated vineyard nestled in the hills of Highland Valley in North County San Diego. Our winery is a lifelong dream realized, a reflection of the love and passion of its proprietors, Gerardo and Rosa Cordiano. We take pride in the craftsmanship of quality wines and the labor practiced for ages in the old country.
Our Story
Our story began with a vision to create a winery that would bring people together to enjoy quality wines and delicious food in a beautiful setting. Gerardo and Rosa Cordiano, our founders, moved to the United States from Italy in the 1970s with a dream to create a better life for themselves and their family. They worked hard, and their dedication paid off when they were able to open their own pizzeria in New York. They eventually moved to Louisiana, where they grew their business to 35 locations. However, they never forgot their roots and their love for winemaking. In 1991, they moved to San Diego and opened their first Italian restaurant, Leonardo's in Rancho Bernardo. The business flourished, and they eventually opened more restaurants in the San Diego area. However, Gerardo never forgot his first love, winemaking. In 2000, he sold the restaurants and began to produce his first wines, eventually opening the winery to the public in 2008.
