Transform Your Life, One Step at a Time

Welcome to Rankin Behavioral Health, a clinical psychology practice in Northern Virginia. We provide individual CBT psychotherapy, DBT Programs, and DBT parenting work. Our office is based in Vienna, Virginia, in the Tysons Corner area, serving adults, teenagers, children, and families. We offer both in-person and teletherapy sessions for individual and group sessions.

Our Services

We provide a range of services including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) tailored to specific difficulties. Our DBT Programs include Comprehensive and Group sessions, as well as DBT parenting work. We also offer CBT for Insomnia, with advanced training through the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine.

What We Treat

We usually treat a variety of difficulties such as anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorders, traumatic stress, relationship issues, dysfunctional habits, and impulsive and harmful behaviors related to ADHD, learning disabilities, or mild autism.

Therapy Methods

Our treatment starts with a proper assessment of difficulties to find the right solutions. We use evidence-based methods, focusing on building a warm, trusting therapy relationship. Symptoms are measured throughout therapy to assess progress.

CBT for Insomnia

Our CBT for Insomnia treatment is led by Dr. Rankin, who has advanced training in CBT-I. We evaluate and treat clients with difficulty falling asleep, staying asleep, or difficulty sleeping on a schedule that allows them to function at their best. This includes sleep disturbance associated with chronic pain, cancer, depression, menopause, anxiety, nightmares, and night terrors.

Treatment Process

The treatment process begins with an initial evaluation, including questionnaires and a clinical interview. We then review our recommendations with you and your primary care physician or health care provider. Follow-up treatment may be conducted at our practice, depending on the nature of the intervention.
