Nurturing the Whole Child, One Student at a Time

La Casita Preschool was established in 2011 by two dedicated educators, Theresa Jensen and Veronica Escareno, who met while working at a local Montessori school. With a shared vision of creating a close-knit school community that nurtures the whole child, they founded La Casita. Our philosophy is based on striking a balance between developing academic skills while also giving students time to play and explore. We encourage each child's unique interests and curiosities through a wide range of hands-on activities, and by allowing them the freedom to choose the activities they are naturally drawn to.

At La Casita, we foster a warm and nurturing environment where students feel like they are in their second home. We maintain clear boundaries and routines so that students know what to expect, while also demonstrating caring, kindness, and respect towards each other. Our goal is to empower students by helping them gain independence-from learning how to work a zipper to expressing feelings or negotiating how to share.

Our School

La Casita Preschool is a place where the whole child is nurtured. We take pride in building a close-knit community where students can develop academically, socially, and emotionally. Our experienced and dedicated teachers work closely with each child to help them reach their full potential. We offer a safe and stimulating environment where students are encouraged to explore, learn, and grow.

What We Do

At La Casita, we offer a variety of services that cater to the needs of each child. Our curriculum is designed to promote hands-on learning and to encourage each child's natural curiosity and interests. We offer a wide range of activities, including arts and crafts, music, dance, and science experiments. We also believe in the importance of outdoor education and play, and we offer regular opportunities for students to explore the world around them.

In addition to our in-class activities, we work with the Spindrift School of Performing Arts to offer a dance class where students are invited to perform in the fall and spring recitals. We also believe in the importance of giving back to the community, and we partner with the Pacifica Resource Center to organize a school canned food drive and to sponsor a family for their annual Holiday Joy Gift Program.

Projects and Partnerships

At La Casita, we believe that partnerships and collaborations are essential to providing a well-rounded education. We work closely with local organizations to provide hands-on learning opportunities for our students. Our partnerships include the Pacifica Resource Center, the Spindrift School of Performing Arts, and local museums and libraries. Through these partnerships, we are able to offer a variety of projects and activities that provide students with real-world learning experiences.

Hands-on Learning

We believe that hands-on learning is essential to promoting children's cognitive and social development. Our curriculum is designed to provide students with opportunities to engage in meaningful activities that promote exploration, discovery, and problem-solving. We offer a variety of hands-on activities, including building with blocks, gardening, cooking, and sensory play. These activities allow students to develop their fine motor skills, creativity, and critical thinking skills.

Outdoor Education and Play

At La Casita, we believe that outdoor education and play are essential components of a well-rounded education. We offer regular opportunities for students to explore the world around them, including nature walks, garden projects, and outdoor games. These activities provide students with the opportunity to develop their gross motor skills, creativity, and appreciation for the natural world.

Cultivating the Arts

We believe that the arts are an essential part of a well-rounded education. We offer a variety of arts and crafts activities that allow students to express their creativity and develop their fine motor skills. We also work with the Spindrift School of Performing Arts to offer a dance class where students can perform in the fall and spring recitals. These activities provide students with the opportunity to develop their self-confidence, creativity, and appreciation for the arts.

Giving Back

At La Casita, we believe that it is important to give back to the community. Each year, we partner with the Pacifica Resource Center to organize a school canned food drive and to sponsor a family for their annual Holiday Joy Gift Program. These activities provide students with the opportunity to develop their empathy, compassion, and sense of community.
