SIP SMALL. SIP SAN DIEGO.

SIP San Diego is a nonprofit collective of urban wineries, meaderies, and cideries located throughout the entire county of San Diego. Our dedicated members source superior fruit and ingredients to produce award-winning beverages in spaces throughout the urban core of San Diego.

Our Mission

The mission of SIP SAN DIEGO is to increase awareness of locally crafted, artisanal wine, mead, and cider while creating a collaborative community for our skilled city wine, mead, and cider makers. It is also our intention to encourage San Diegans, if they have the means, to "Sip Small" every opportunity they have; opting for purchasing locally crafted beverages as opposed to the mainstream brands.

Our History

In 2013, we launched as San Diego Urban Wineries with a mission of increasing awareness of locally crafted, artisanal wine. We wanted San Diegans to know they didn't need to leave their beloved city and drive to a big winery to experience excellent wine! Well, feeling more than confident that mission had been accomplished and ready for a change, we moved forward with opening up our membership to meaderies and cideries in 2020!

Our Services

We offer a unique experience for wine, mead, and cider enthusiasts. Our SIP San Diego Passport is your ticket to a tasting flight at every single urban wine, mead, and cider member in our organization! That's 12 delicious tasting flights, 12 small businesses supported, and 12 good times with great drinks! You'll can access our Passport directly from your phone. As a Passport holder, you'll also enjoy exclusive specials from our members along with discounted ticket prices to our events!

We also host events like the SIP the City tasting festival, where you can enjoy delicious libations from local craft wine, cider, and mead producers all in one place in the heart of San Diego.

Our Members

Our members include Carruth Cellars, Charlie & Echo, Gianni Buonomo, and many more. Our members are dedicated to producing high-quality, artisanal beverages, and we encourage you to explore the San Diego urban wine, mead, and cider scene to fully experience the craft beverage renaissance unfolding in our city.
