Our Story
At Cubanisimo Vineyards, we are proud to share our passion and pride for our wines and heritage. Our journey into the wine industry began with the purchase of a 21-acre parcel evaluated for its vineyard potential in 1986. We planted 8 acres of Pinot Noir on our SE-facing hillside as we further developed our estate property in the Willamette Valley. Initially, our focus was on refining our vineyard management, and we would sell our grapes to larger wineries in Oregon, such as King Estate and Erath.
Our Heritage
Our heritage is deeply rooted in Cuba, and we wanted to pay homage to our Cuban heritage through our wines. The name "Cubanisimo" means "very Cuban" and we have committed to developing our wines into the top-quality product meriting the name. In 2003, we decided to forge ahead with the dream by keeping the product from our vineyards to produce our own wines under the label of Cubanisimo Vineyards. Much soul-searching took place in the name selection and label design since we wanted our homage to our Cuban heritage to be a quality product in every way.
Our Team
Our team is led by Mauricio Collada Jr., owner and president of Cubanisimo Vineyards, who was born in Habana, Cuba. Mauricio brought his passion for neurosurgery and his love for Oregon Pinot Noir to the wine industry. Mauricio met his wife Debra, who shares his passion for wine and hospitality, and together they own and operate the vineyard. Debra is also a graduate of the University of Oregon and has a background in sustainability. Our team's expertise includes vineyard management, winemaking, and hospitality.
Wine Production
Our wines are currently produced and bottled at R Stuart & Co. in McMinnville, with plans to move production to our own estate as our wine production increases. We employ sustainable winegrowing practices and focus on delivering high-quality wines that showcase the unique characteristics of Oregon Pinot Noir.
Wine Club and Events
We enjoy sharing our beautiful estate and fabulous wines with friends and family. Join our wine club, Amigos de Cubanisimo, to enjoy exclusive events, wine, and savings. Our wine club offers regular shipments of our latest releases, as well as special access to new vintages and library wines.
