Maison Bleue Winery

Maison Bleue, founded in 2007, is a highly regarded producer of Syrah, Grenache, and Viognier, with a focus on terroir-driven wines from the Walla Walla Valley, and more specifically, from the Rocks District of Milton-Freewater AVA. Our winemaking style is uncompromised, combining traditional techniques, gentle handling, and a modest use of French oak to create exceptional wines that truly reflect their origin.

Our winery is located at 20 N. 2nd Avenue, Walla Walla, WA 99362, and our tasting room is open Thursday to Sunday, from 11 am to 6 pm. While reservations are appreciated, walk-in guests are always welcome.

Maison Bleue Estate Vineyard

In 2018, we planted our Maison Bleue Estate Vineyard, a 15-acre site featuring Syrah, Grenache, and Viognier. Situated at the entrance to the Rocks District of Milton-Freewater AVA, our vineyard boasts one of the higher elevations in the appellation, minimizing frost damage. The unique location also features some of the largest stones in the area, remnants of the Walla Walla River's path, which left these large deposits as the water moved swiftly through the region. We are proud to source grapes from high-quality neighboring vineyards and look forward to our first harvest from our estate vineyard in 2020.

Wines and Vineyards

Our passion lies in producing wines that truly express the terroir of the Rocks District of Milton-Freewater AVA. With a focus on Rhone varietals such as Syrah, Grenache, and Viognier, we strive to create wines that showcase the unique characteristics of our region. Among our offerings, you'll find:

• 2021 Frontiere Syrah: This wine boasts a brilliant purple hue and an aromatic profile of blackberry, baked sugar, and cinnamon. On the palate, flavors of blackberry torte, chocolate, pie crust, and espresso shine, complemented by natural tannins and soft barrel flavors.
• 2020 Voyageur Syrah: Rich in Rocks character, this Syrah opens with notes of blackberry and plum, evolving into aromas and flavors of anise, black pepper, savory herbs, game, and minerality, delivering a strong reflection of the appellation.
• 2020 Maison Bleue Graviere Syrah: A single-vineyard designate from Stone Valley, this Syrah offers an inviting nose of blackberry preserves, macerated raspberries, and black cherries, with a full-bodied, lusciously concentrated palate. Notes of fresh red and black fruits, leather, cigar box, anise, and baking spices lead to smooth, refined tannins and balancing acidity.
• 2022 Maison Bleue Voltigeur Viognier: With pale gold clarity, this Viognier delights the senses with elegant notes of mixed fruits, peach, jasmine flower, and minerality. On the palate, flavors of baked peaches, stone fruit, and creme brulee are complemented by rich viscosity and a prolonged finish from French oak aging.
