Our Story
Brenda's journey to becoming a winemaker began when she and her husband Chris, along with their three dogs, moved to Sonoma County in 1994. Brenda started working in cellars, gaining valuable experience and developing her winemaking philosophy: harvest beautiful fruit, treat it gently in the winery, and keep the winemaking as natural as possible. In 1995, Brenda produced her first professional wine, a Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel, which marked the birth of Mutt Lynch Winery.
Why the Dog Theme?
When people ask Brenda why she chose to name her winery after her dogs, she smiles and says "why not?" Brenda believes that dogs bring joy and companionship to people's lives, and that's what her winery is all about: sharing her passion for wine, love for dogs, and friendship. Her motto, "Apply Dog Logic to Life: Eat Well, Be Loved, Get Petted, Sleep a lot, Dream of a Leash-Free World - Sark, " reflects her philosophy of living life to the fullest and enjoying life's simple pleasures.
