Dorothy Ann Bakery is a third-generation, family-owned and operated bakery that has been serving the Twin Cities area for over 70 years. We specialize in cakes, cupcakes, and desserts for all occasions, and we take great pride in continuing our tradition of good taste.
Our History
Dorothy Ann Bakery was first established by its original owners, Ed Durin and his wife Dorothy Ann, on East 7th Street in St. Paul. Ed worked as the Head Baker while Dorothy Ann assisted customers, and together they developed a strong reputation and loyal customer base that sustained through their retirement in 1951. Walter "Wally" Grochowski, who was the owner of Wally's Pastry Shop on Rice Street and Phalen Park Bakery on Arcade Street, took over as owner. With the support of his wife and four children, Wally opened a second DAB location in the Sun Ray Shopping Center and welcomed his daughter Joan to the team as a full-time Cake Decorator in 1978. Joan introduced her doting boyfriend, Steve Conway, to the DAB family in 1980, and together they took over as owners in 1982. Joan and Steve have been serving loyal customers ever since, and in 2009, they welcomed their daughter Colleen as their full-time Head Cake Decorator.

We use only the freshest ingredients and traditional baking techniques to create our delicious products. Our experienced bakers and cake decorators can create custom cakes and desserts for any occasion, from weddings and birthdays to corporate events and holidays.
Weddings
Dorothy Ann Bakery has been creating dream weddings for over 70 years. We offer a full-service planning experience, from in-person consultations to customized cake and dessert displays that fit your unique taste, style, and budget. Our experienced and educated staff will guide you through every step of the process, from selecting design details to finalizing your order and arranging delivery and set-up. We have a wide selection of stands, pedestals, towers, donut walls, and serving trays for wedding presentations, and we offer a full delivery service for a fee. We take full responsibility for your cake and desserts from the moment they leave the bakery until they are safely delivered and set up at your venue.
Catering
In addition to our bakery and wedding services, Dorothy Ann Bakery also offers catering for any event or occasion. We have a wide selection of sandwiches, salads, and appetizers, and we can customize a menu to fit your needs and budget. Dorothy Ann Bakery is located at 710 Commerce Dr. Suite 100 in Woodbury, MN. We are closed on Mondays and open Tuesday through Friday from 7:00am to 5:00pm, Saturday from 7:30am to 4:00pm, and Sunday from 7:30am to 12:00pm. We offer online ordering for your convenience, and we welcome walk-ins for baked goods, catering orders, and consultations.
