At Andersonville Mindfulness & Psychology, our mission is to increase access to trauma-informed, evidence-based, and LGBTQ+ affirmative psychotherapy and psychological services. We understand that navigating the process of finding a therapist you can trust, who accepts your insurance or is affordable, and who you "click" with can add additional layers of stress when you are already struggling. That's why we are committed to providing as much support as possible during this process, whether we end up working together or not.
Our Services
We offer individual, couples, and family therapy services that are evidence-based, trauma-informed, and affirmative of LGBTQ+ identities. Our clinical team is diverse in training and experience, and specializes in working with members of the LGBTQIA* and TGNC populations, as well as alternative sexualities and relationships. We can help with anxiety and stress, depression and other mood-related diagnoses, identity exploration and development, relationships, life transitions, trauma, grief, and more.
Gender Affirmative Services
We offer gender affirmative support, including readiness letters for surgery and hormone replacement therapy (HRT) treatments. We follow an informed consent model when writing readiness letters, and we want to make sure you are informed, prepared, and have the information you need when making decisions about your next steps in your gender journey.
Psychological Testing
We also offer psychological testing services, including evaluations for cognitive, emotional, and personality assessment. Our testing services can help identify cognitive deficits, memory problems, and other brain-based issues.
About Our Partner Practice
Our partner practice, Chicago Mindful Psychotherapy, is a group practice based in Chicago's Andersonville neighborhood with an additional location in Chicago's Loop. The practice provides psychotherapy services to individuals, couples, and families, and offers a variety of group therapy offerings, including Mindful Anger Management and Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction (MBSR).
