Who We Are

At New York University Federal Credit Union (NYU FCU), we are a not-for-profit financial cooperative deeply rooted in the New York University (NYU) community. Founded in 1982, our mission has always been to provide high-quality financial products and services to our members at competitive rates, with an unwavering commitment to exceptional customer service. As a member-owned and directed financial institution, we are governed by a member-elected, volunteer Board of Directors, who establish policies and control guided by the belief that basic financial services should be affordable to everyone.

Our History

Our rich history dates back to 1982, when NYU faculty and staff members came together to create a financial cooperative exclusively serving the NYU community. Over the years, our field of membership has expanded to accommodate not only faculty, staff, and administrators of the University but also students, alumni, retirees, and employees of the NYU hospital system, as well as family members of NYU FCU members. In 2006, Mira Ness became the CEO of the Credit Union, leading us into a new era of growth and expansion.

Our Governance

Our Supervisory Committee is responsible for reviewing and approving financial statements, ensuring transparency and accountability.
