I am Karen Toth, PhD, a licensed clinical psychologist with extensive experience in treating children, adolescents, and adults with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other developmental disorders. My practice is dedicated to providing comprehensive diagnostic and treatment services to individuals and families affected by these disorders.
Assessment Services
As a licensed clinical psychologist, I provide diagnostic and assessment services for children, adolescents, and adults. My assessment services include diagnostic evaluations for autism spectrum disorder (ASD) as well as for the full range of child and adolescent psychiatric disorders. I also conduct neuropsychological assessments to assist with diagnostic clarification and educational programming. Additionally, I offer independent educational evaluations (IEE) to help individuals and their families understand their educational needs.
Treatment Services
My treatment approach is rooted in behavioral, neuro-developmental, cognitive-behavioral, and psycho-educational approaches. I strive to teach children and families concrete skills to manage their emotions and behavior at home, school, and in the community. My treatment goals are tailored to the unique needs of each individual and family, and I rely on evidence-based practices to achieve optimal social-emotional, behavioral, adaptive, and academic functioning.
Consultation Services
I provide consultation services to private and public schools to help improve educational programming and support for students with autism spectrum disorder. I also offer consultation services to clinics and individual providers on working with children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorders.
Consultation Topics
Some of the consultation topics I address include setting goals and expectations, improving the specificity of IEP goals, implementing behavior plans, identifying and teaching strategies to increase motivation and engagement, and addressing the needs of students with autism spectrum disorder.
Public Speaking
Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of giving lectures, workshops, and talks on various topics related to developmental disabilities and autism spectrum disorder. I have spoken to health professionals, academics, students, and community members, and I am available to speak at events and conferences.
