At A Home Within, we empower individuals who have experienced foster care to thrive by providing them with dedicated volunteer therapists who offer free, weekly, one-to-one therapy sessions for as long as it takes. Our mission is to create and support lasting, caring relationships that help individuals overcome the challenges of foster care.
Our Story
Founded in 1994 as the Children's Psychotherapy Project, our organization has grown to become a nationwide network of over 500 volunteer therapists across 10 states. Our founders understood the profound impact a single, lasting relationship could have on the life of a person who has experienced foster care. Today, we continue to carry their vision forward by providing individual, open-ended, relationship-based psychotherapy free of charge to current and former foster youth.
