Transforming homes into grand masterpieces, one project at a time.

At Old City Swim School, we believe that swim confidence is essential for everyone. Whether you're a kid or an adult, being comfortable in and around water is crucial for enjoyment, safety, and overall well-being. Our mission is to teach every single person we work with to love and appreciate the water as much as we do. We've spent countless summers in our local neighborhood pools and beaches growing up, playing every possible game that you can play in the water, from sharks and minnows to Water Polo. We've also competed at the highest levels of the sport, and we've enjoyed our fair share of lounging around the pool doing absolutely nothing.

Our Learn-to-Swim Classes

Our learn-to-swim classes are perfect for parents who want to get their toddlers comfortable in the water, kids and teens who want to learn how to swim, regardless of their starting point, and adults of all levels, from those who don't know how to swim but want to learn, all the way up to those who want to perfect their swimming technique while getting in a great workout.

Our Programs

We offer a technique-driven learn-to-swim-program that teaches life-saving swimming skills along with the four classic swim strokes. Our level-based "building block" curriculum promotes swimmers from one level to the next upon successful mastery of the specific skills required at each of the 10 levels. Our Kids Learn-to-Swim Program is designed for kids ages 3-12 who are comfortable getting wet and being in the pool with a coach. Our primary goal is to make your child #PoolSafe, which means they can swim 8 lengths of the pool without stopping, breathe to their side, tread water for 3 minutes with their hands in the water and 1 minute without the use of their hands, and perform 2 lengths of the pool backstroke and breaststroke.

Why Choose Us?

We have a team of experienced and qualified instructors who work one-on-one or in small groups to help each student master each skill. We offer a safe and supportive environment where students of all ages and skill levels can learn and thrive. We also have ample and free parking, making it convenient for parents and students alike. Our program is well-managed, responsive, and staffed with caring and professional coaches.

Our Blog

Our blog features articles on various topics related to swimming, including skincare tips for swimmers, the importance of the "sweet spot" in swimming, and more. We also share our latest news, events, and other awesome things happening at Old City Swim School.

Reviews
Negative: The reviews highlight the program's inflexibility, poor communication, and lack of customer service, leading to frustration and disappointment among parents and their children.

Inflexibility and Unpredictability

Many reviewers expressed frustration with the program's inflexibility and lack of predictability. This includes the strict requirements for enrolling children, the inability to make up missed lessons, and the need for 30 days' notice to cancel lessons. This inflexibility led to feelings of being nickel-and-dimed, with parents being charged for lessons their children didn't attend.

Variability in Coaches and Lessons

Reviewers also noted that their children rarely got the same coach week-to-week, which made it difficult for their child to build trust and learn consistently. Additionally, the program's focus on mastering specific skills before moving on to the next level led to children feeling frustrated, bored, and losing confidence.

Poor Communication and Customer Service

Several reviewers mentioned poor communication and customer service from the program's staff and administration. This included difficulty canceling lessons, struggling to get a refund, and being charged for lessons that were supposed to be suspended.
