West Hillandale Swim Club

West Hillandale Swim Club is a private, member-owned swim club located in Silver Spring, Maryland. We are a small oasis in the midst of suburban life, offering a refreshing and rejuvenating environment where families and individuals can come together to relax, socialize, and enjoy the great outdoors.

Our History

Our story began in 1961, when a group of neighbors came together to create a safe and welcoming space for families to spend their summers. Over the years, we have evolved to meet the changing needs of our members, while still maintaining our core values of community, safety, and enjoyment. Today, we are proud to offer a state-of-the-art pool facility, complete with modern amenities and a vibrant member community.

Our Services

Our pool facility is equipped with a range of amenities to ensure a fun and relaxing experience for all members and guests. Our pool features include:

• A large L-shaped pool with 25-meter swim lanes, a diving well, and an expansive, sloping shallow end perfect for younger children
• A shaded wading pool, enclosed with a fence, for small children
• Dedicated lap lanes for members to swim laps
• A diving well and diving board for members to practice their flips
• Multiple private showers and changing areas with storage for personal items
• A community kitchen with a microwave, ice machine, and wash sink
• A large shaded stone patio with picnic tables, a pavilion, and gas and charcoal grills
• A second pavilion for private parties and events
• Basketball court, sand volleyball, tetherball, and ping pong areas
• Green space and shade beneath mature trees
• WiFi access throughout the pool grounds
• Ample free parking and a water bottle filling fountain

Our Community

At West Hillandale Swim Club, we pride ourselves on being a family-friendly and inclusive community. We cater to members of all ages and backgrounds, offering a range of activities and events throughout the summer. From swim lessons and swim team to social events and parties, there's always something happening at the pool.

Our Governance

Our club is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, elected by membership to serve two-year terms. The Board is responsible for making decisions regarding the club's finances, policies, and events. We hold regular town hall meetings and an annual meeting to ensure that all members have a voice in the decision-making process.
