The American Academy of Clinical Psychology is a membership organization of Board Certified psychologists in the specialty of Clinical Psychology. Our mission is to promote high-quality services in Clinical Psychology by encouraging high standards and ethical practice in the field. The Academy was founded in 1993 in response to the need for a membership organization for psychologists who have earned Board Certification in Clinical Psychology by the American Board of Clinical Psychology (ABCP), which is a member board of the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP).

The American Academy of Clinical Psychology is dedicated to promoting excellence in Clinical Psychology by encouraging and recognizing Board Certification in Clinical Psychology. We aim to promote high standards and ethical practice in the field, and to provide a community of Board Certified psychologists who share a commitment to excellence in Clinical Psychology.

Our Services

The Academy offers a range of services to its members and the wider psychological community. These services include:

• Continuing Education Opportunities: We provide access to Continuing Education opportunities, including webinars, workshops, and conferences, to help members stay up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in Clinical Psychology.
• Professional Development: We offer professional development opportunities, including mentorship programs, to help members advance their careers and develop their skills.
• Community Resources: We provide a range of community resources, including mental health definitions, professional directory, and community articles, to help individuals understand and address mental health issues.
• Job Board: We provide a job board for psychology professionals to find employment opportunities and for employers to find qualified candidates.
• Speakers Bureau: We offer a speakers bureau for psychology professionals to present at conferences and events, and for organizations to find qualified speakers.

Our Members

Our members are Board Certified psychologists who have earned certification in Clinical Psychology through the American Board of Clinical Psychology (ABCP). Our members are professionals who have demonstrated expertise and commitment to excellence in Clinical Psychology. Many of our members are leaders in the field, serving in leadership positions in research institutions, universities, hospitals, and private practice.
