Exploring the depths of self-discovery and growth
At Water's Edge Psychotherapy, we understand that life can be challenging, and it's often the small, everyday struggles that can feel like a constant source of stress and anxiety. As a holistic psychotherapy practice, we believe that our clients are more than just their diagnoses or problems - they are unique, complex individuals with stories to tell, hopes to pursue, and dreams to achieve. Our therapists are passionate about helping people find greater peace, aliveness, and fulfillment within themselves and their relationships.
Mind-Body Healing through Psychotherapy and Yoga
Our approach to therapy is rooted in a deep respect for the interconnectedness of our bodies, minds, and spirits. We believe that our bodies hold the wisdom of our experiences, and that by paying attention to our physical sensations, emotions, and thoughts, we can access new levels of awareness, insight, and healing. Our therapy sessions often incorporate elements of yoga, meditation, and other mind-body practices to help our clients cultivate greater self-awareness, self-acceptance, and resilience.
Individual Psychotherapy
In our work with older adolescents and adult clients, we collaborate with you to promote healthy development and the capacity to free yourself from unsatisfying or painful patterns of living. Our approach emphasizes developing your capacity to be in relationships in a life-giving way. We work together to explore the various ways in which your past relationships have shaped your present relationships, including your relationships with yourself, others, and the natural world. Through our work, you will gain a deeper understanding of your own strengths, weaknesses, values, and goals, and develop the skills and strategies to achieve a more fulfilling life.
Group Therapy and Workshops
We offer a weekly psychotherapy group focused on helping group members learn how to have deeper and more satisfying relationships. Participating in a psychotherapy group can be a safe and transformative way to learn about how others experience you, to understand the protective habits that may be getting in the way of your innate capacity for closeness and intimacy, and to practice reaching out to people in a genuine, courageous way. Throughout the year, we also offer 1-day workshops on topics such as couples communication, yoga for grief, and stress-relief.
Yoga Nidra for Healing
Yoga Nidra is a deeply restorative and nourishing guided relaxation practice. When we're struggling with anxiety, insomnia, or fatigue, it can be challenging to quiet our minds and bodies. Yoga Nidra is a powerful tool for cultivating greater calm, clarity, and focus. Our therapist, Katrin, will lead you through a personalized practice, tailoring the experience to meet your unique needs and goals.
Couples Therapy
As we navigate relationships, we often face challenges that can feel overwhelming - from communication breakdowns to disagreements about parenting styles. At Water's Edge Psychotherapy, we believe that couples therapy can be a valuable resource for building and strengthening your partnership. Our therapists will work with you and your partner to improve communication, increase intimacy, and develop strategies for navigating life's challenges together.
