The Upper Room Dance Studio

Welcome to The Upper Room Dance Studio, where we promote knowledge, understanding, and practice of dance internationally. Our mission is to train technically sound dancers of all backgrounds, origins, and abilities, and we strive to provide a warm and encouraging environment that allows our students to excel as artists, all the while nurturing their spirit.

Our Vision

Everyone is welcome at The Upper Room Dance Studio, regardless of their faith or background. However, we do acknowledge our Christian roots and incorporate them into our classes. We begin each class with a short devotion, talk freely about our faith, and say a short prayer before each class, lifting up the needs of others. We also carefully select music, uphold modesty, and challenge our students to come to class prepared and ready to work, with mutual respect towards teachers and fellow students.

Our Services

At The Upper Room Dance Studio, we offer a wide range of dance classes for students of all ages and skill levels. Our classes include ballet, dance, tech, and ballroom dance, as well as specialized classes for ballerinas. We also offer worship tools and resources to help our students grow in their faith. Our experienced and professional teachers are dedicated to providing a nurturing environment that allows our students to grow and develop as dancers and as individuals.

Our History

The Upper Room Dance Studio was founded in 1997 by Diane Belz, our Artistic Director, with just 20 students using the Fellowship Hall of Wheaton 1st Assembly Church. Over the years, we have grown exponentially, but our commitment to providing a warm and encouraging environment has remained the same. Our hearts' desire is to see our students use their talents for God, and we strive to physically, spiritually, and emotionally nurture each student according to their individuality and ability.
