Dolio Winery & Vineyard

Dolio Winery is a family-owned and operated artisanal winery located in the picturesque Southwest Washington. Our winery specializes in handcrafting high-quality Italian varietals, using the finest Washington-grown grapes and minimal intervention in the winemaking process. Our commitment to careful selection of aging vessels allows our wines to speak for themselves, resulting in taste profiles that are both unique and easily paired with a variety of dishes.

Our Wines

At Dolio Winery, we offer a range of red, white, and rose wines, each with its own distinctive flavor profile. Our red wines include Sangiovese, Petite Sirah, and Pinot Noir, which can be paired perfectly with a variety of dishes such as lasagna, beef stroganoff, and herbed chicken. For those who prefer white wines, we offer a selection of crisp and refreshing options, which are perfect for a hot summer day or any occasion.

Tasting Room

We invite you to visit our tasting room, where you can pull up a chair, enjoy a comfortable seat and learn about our winemaking choices and processes. Our winemaker is always present in the tasting room and is eager to share their knowledge with interested visitors. Visitors are welcome to bring along a picnic or snacks to enjoy while tasting our wines. For larger groups of 10 or more, and for all limousine, van, and small bus tours, we require reservations to be made at least one week in advance.

Why a Winery?

The decision to open a winery was a natural one for us. We were looking for something that would make our lives more complicated and add more work to our daily schedule. We both grew up in agriculture and have a deep appreciation for hard work and its rewards. After spending time in the suburbs, we were drawn back to a rural setting and the tradition of farming. Our love for Italian wine led us to plant vines and pursue winemaking more seriously. We both obtained Oenology Certificates through Washington State University, and the rest is history!

Why Italian Varietals?

Our passion for Italian wine is what led us to specialize in Italian varietals. We love the simplicity and approachability of Italian wines, which shine as single varietals and do not require blending to achieve outstanding flavor. At the same time, we enjoy experimenting with unexpected blends to create unique and delicious wines.

Our Winemaking Style

Our guiding principle is to let the grapes shine, interfering as little as possible in the winemaking process. All Dolio wines are produced onsite from carefully tended Washington-grown grapes. Our winemaker consistently researches best practices, blending art and science along with traditional and innovative processes to achieve the highest quality wines.

Vineyard Update

After several challenging years of growing Pinot Gris, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir vines, we made the decision to reduce our workload and remove the vines in 2021. While the core red Italian varietals will not ripen in this area, we are pleased to continue working with quality grapes from Eastern Washington vineyards.
