Pennsylvania Envirothon is a natural resource and environmental education program that educates high school students through classroom learning and outdoor activities. The program combines hands-on field testing with classroom learning, focusing on five topic areas: Soils and Land Use, Aquatic Ecology, Forestry, Wildlife, and Environmental Issues. Students work alongside professionals to assess the quality of aquatic ecosystems, learn about forest management, and understand the impact of human activities on the environment. The program also includes an oral component where teams present their findings on a current environmental issue. Pennsylvania Envirothon aims to educate young minds about protecting and wise use of natural resources.
