Welcome to Yoder and Sons Construction, a premier contractor and new home builder in Delaware's Kent and Sussex Counties. Our company draws heavily on our Amish heritage, which dates back at least four generations, to define who we are. Our mission is to provide our customers with a top-quality, energy-efficient home, personalized customer service, excellent value, and affordable long-term ownership. We specialize in new Amish framed stick-built custom homes, Insulated Concrete Forms (ICF) homes, home additions, remodeling, and home restoration services. All of our new homes feature Yoder Signature Cabinets, handcrafted to our exacting standards by local Amish cabinetmakers.

We are passionate about what we do for our customers and believe in exceeding numerous minimum standards for structural, weatherproofing, energy efficiency, and material quality required by Kent and Sussex Counties of Delaware. Our crew consists of some of the most talented craftsmen in this trade, and we are dedicated to making our finished product outstanding.

Construction Services

We service all of Delaware's coastal beach resort communities, including Lewes, Rehoboth Beach, Bethany Beach, and Ocean View. We also build in further inland Sussex County locations such as Milford, Milton, Georgetown, and Millsboro. Our construction process is focused on innovation and distinction, and we believe in providing quality in areas that you would not normally expect.

Construction Features

Our construction process is designed to provide top-quality homes that meet and exceed local building codes and standards. We use LVL girders, engineered I joists, and steel shims between the pier support systems and girders for floors. Lower walls are treated with an eco-friendly borate termite treatment that is non-toxic to humans and animals. Crawl spaces are installed with double-up rim board around entrances, corrugated pipe in a gravel-filled trench on the inside perimeter, and dehumidifiers to control humidity.

Framing is done by Amish carpenters, and hurricane ties are installed on the outside of the wall instead of on the inside to provide a smoother drywall finish. All OSB wall sheathing is installed horizontally down to the framing plate, and wooden support blocks allow proper distribution of weight from the end gable walls through the floor structure.

We are a complete custom home builder, and our crew consists of some of the most talented craftsmen in this trade. We have the ability to take your ideas and draw you a custom floor plan with our custom house plan coordinator, or we will build your new custom home from your plans you bring to us! Come meet with us, and we can reconfigure or expand any of our 12 model plans to suit your needs!
