Oakland Ballet

Oakland Ballet Company is a non-profit, performing arts organization that reflects the diversity of Oakland and the greater East Bay. The mission of the Oakland Ballet Company is to provide accessible, relevant, and exciting dance that inspires and educates all ages of our diverse community.

Our History

Under the direction of Graham Lustig since 2010, OBC is an Isadora Duncan award-winning dance organization comprised of a diverse professional performing company, a comprehensive educational program, and a summer academy. Our vision is much larger than our name might imply. Our reach is wider than Oakland - spanning much of the East Bay. While we embrace classical ballet at our core, OBC's programs employ many dance styles, musical genres, and collaborations with a diverse roster of local artists.

Our Programs

We offer a variety of programs aimed at promoting dance education and cultural awareness in the community. Our educational programs include Discover Dance, which provides educational resources and workshops for schools and communities. Our summer academy provides training for students of all ages and skill levels, with experienced instructors and guest artists. Our performances range from traditional ballets like The Nutcracker to innovative collaborations with local artists and companies.

Our Team

Led by Artistic Director Graham Lustig, our team includes experienced dancers, choreographers, and educators who share our passion for dance and commitment to community engagement. Our company dancers are professional performers with extensive experience in classical and contemporary dance. Our staff includes artists, educators, and administrators who are dedicated to promoting dance and cultural awareness in the community.
