Marin Conservatory Of Dance

Marin Conservatory of Dance (MCD) is a renowned conservatory that provides high-quality professional training in classical ballet. Our mission is to offer students of all levels an opportunity to explore and express themselves physically and emotionally through ballet. With a focus on technique and performance, we offer year-round training with three semesters: Fall, Spring, and Summer.

Our classes are designed to be a two-semester commitment for Fall and Spring, with options in the Summer. During the Summer, we offer one to four week intensives depending on age and level. We also provide performance opportunities by level and per semester, which expose and engage awareness in the performing arts. At MCD, we believe that class is for training ballet technique with occasional rehearsals at the end of class prior to performances. This approach fosters a deep understanding of ballet and prepares students for performance.

Our syllabus is loosely based on the Vaganova method, which was devised by Russian dancer and pedagogue Agrippina Vaganova. This method fuses elements of traditional French style from the romantic era with the athleticism and virtuosity of Italian Cecchetti technique. We believe that this approach increases consciousness and mastery of the body, allowing students to develop a deep understanding of ballet.

With state-of-the-art facilities and top-of-the-line equipment, including Rosco Sprung Flooring and Harlequin Marley, we ensure that our dancers have the best environment to thrive.
