Our Beginnings

The Fairfax Stars basketball program was born in the summer of 1996 from the vision of Aggie McCormick. Driven by a desire to provide local youth with more basketball opportunities, she set out to establish a program that would offer a higher level of competition and skill development. At the time, Aggie recognized a gap in the AAU landscape for boys in Fairfax County, as they lacked a viable, local organization to play in. She also became aware that there was a burgeoning demand for AAU opportunities for young girls as well. Her experience as a previous AAU and high school coach allowed her to see the potential talent waiting to be nurtured.

A Legacy of Excellence

Fueled by Aggie's unwavering commitment to excellence, both on and off the court, the Fairfax Stars quickly gained recognition as a premier AAU basketball program. We proudly offer teams for boys and girls, spanning a range of age groups from 7 to 18 years old. The selection process for our teams is based on open tryouts, ensuring that all talented young athletes have the opportunity to showcase their skills and strive for a place among the Stars.

From the very beginning, we believe in nurturing a love for basketball while equipping players with the essential skills needed to excel both individually and as a team.

Our dedicated and experienced coaching staff works tirelessly to provide each player with personalized attention, constructive feedback, and a supportive environment where they can grow and flourish. Through rigorous training sessions, strategic game plans, and a culture of mutual respect, we aim to empower our players to reach their full potential and achieve their basketball aspirations.

We are immensely proud of the accomplishments of our players and coaches, but we believe that true success is measured by the individual growth, character development, and lifelong friendships forged within the Stars family.
