Where every student feels successful and reaches their full potential
At the Academy of Ballet Arts (ABA), we are dedicated to providing a nurturing environment where students can develop their passion for dance. Our focus is on technique and performance skills, emphasizing that dance is an art, not a competition. We believe in fostering the love of dance through kind and caring instructors, ensuring that every student feels successful and valued.
What Makes ABA Unique
Our unique approach sets us apart from other dance studios. We provide personal, individualized instruction to every student, not just the most gifted. This approach helps every student in the class, regardless of their skill level, to grow and improve. Our caring and friendly environment encourages students to reach their full potential without the pressure of competition.
Student Success
We are proud of our students' achievements. Many have gone on to receive scholarships and have professional careers with renowned institutions such as Ballet West, RDT, Ririe Woodbury, Joffrey Ballet, San Francisco Ballet, and more. Our graduates have also been accepted into prestigious programs like Julliard, University of Utah, and BYU's ballet programs.
Faculty
Our faculty is comprised of experienced dancers and instructors who are dedicated to teaching and mentoring. Sheila Cramer, our Head Instructor, has extensive training and experience, having danced with the University of Utah's Ballet Department and Point Park College. She has been with ABA since 1986 and has served as Ballet Mistress and Artistic Director for Mountain West Ballet.
Curriculum
Our curriculum is designed to cater to students of all ages and skill levels. We offer a range of classes including ballet technique, pointe, pre-ballet, jazz, hip-hop, modern, lyrical, character dance, tap, creative dance, and pas de deux. Our extensive contemporary program complements our classical ballet curriculum, ensuring that students receive a well-rounded dance education.
