At Japan Karate Do Ryobu-Kai New England, we are a martial arts organization dedicated to providing top-notch instruction in the traditional Japanese style of karate known as Shindo Jinen Ryu. Our dojo is part of an international organization with branches in over 20 countries around the world, and we are proud to be a part of this global community of martial artists.

Our Philosophy

Karate is more than just a physical activity - it is a journey that develops the body, mind, and spirit. Our instructors are dedicated to helping students of all levels achieve their goals and reach their full potential. We believe that karate is an effective means of building character, discipline, and self-confidence, while also providing a comprehensive physical workout.

Our Services

We offer classes for adults aged 18 and above, with a focus on traditional karate instruction. Our classes are designed to be challenging yet rewarding, and we provide a supportive and inclusive environment for all our students. In addition to our regular classes, we also offer private lessons by appointment and subject to availability. We believe in making our classes accessible to everyone, which is why we do not charge for the first class, and we do not have any contracts.

Our Instructors

Our Head Instructor, Sensei Paul Belle Isle, is a highly experienced martial artist with a 7th-degree ranking in Shindo Jinen Ryu. Sensei Belle Isle has been studying martial arts since 1985 and has trained under some of the most renowned instructors in the world. He is dedicated to sharing his knowledge and expertise with our students, and he is committed to helping them achieve their goals.

Our History

Japan Karate Do Ryobu-Kai was founded by Sensei Yasuhiro Konishi, 10th dan, and developed by his son, Yasuhiro (Takehiro) Konishi, 10th Dan. Our organization has a rich history and a strong tradition of excellence, and we are proud to be a part of this global community of martial artists.
