Premier Traditional Martial Arts Training in SC
Lam Tang Kung Fu Academy was established in 1985 in Columbia, South Carolina, as the state's first Kung Fu and Tai Chi school. We specialize in traditional Chinese martial arts, including Tiger Crane Hung Ga, Hasayfu Hung Kuen, and multiple Tai Chi styles. Our curriculum integrates Qi Gong for healing and conditioning, along with Iron Palm instruction for advanced practitioners. The academy honors its lineage through Sifu Saleem's connection to Grand Masters Lam Sai Wing, Tang Fong, and Leung Wah Chew. We emphasize moral values such as respect, discipline, and loyalty while adapting ancient practices for modern applications.

Our three distinct Hung Gar lineages and direct Tai Chi from Sun Lu Tang distinguish us from other schools. Community engagement includes accredited courses at local universities and demonstrations for organizations like Fort Jackson. Periodic seminars cover specialized weapons and Chinese wrestling techniques. The academy fosters a family atmosphere where students support each other's growth. With over three decades of operation, we continue preserving authentic Chinese martial arts traditions in South Carolina.
