Our Services

At Scoliosis Care Physical Therapy, we specialize in the Schroth method of scoliosis exercise therapy, a 3D conservative treatment approach that has been in the forefront of non-surgical care for scoliosis in Europe since 1927. Our treatment program is designed to address the specific needs of each patient, including:

• Elongation exercises specific to the curve pattern
• Opening of spinal concavities through activation of transverse muscular forces
• Targeted breathing to facilitate derotation
• Correction of postural asymmetries
• Trunk stabilization in the corrected position
• New improved movement patterns applied throughout daily activities
• Home program education and training

Treatment Programs

We offer two main treatment programs at Scoliosis Care Physical Therapy:

• Schroth-Based Physical Therapy: This program is designed for individuals with idiopathic scoliosis, and is tailored to each patient's specific curve pattern. Our expert physical therapists will work with you to address specific curves and asymmetries, using corrective exercises and breathing techniques to improve your posture and reduce pain.
• Post-Surgical Rehabilitation: For patients who have undergone spinal fusion surgery for scoliosis, our program is designed to address the unique challenges of the fusion site. We will work with you to address trunk imbalances above and below the fusion, maximizing symmetrical forces in the spine after fusion.

Expert Care

At Scoliosis Care Physical Therapy, we pride ourselves on providing expert care from a team of highly trained and experienced physical therapists. Our team is led by Dr. Jeanann Maguffin, a certified orthopedic clinical specialist (OCS) with advanced training in the Schroth method. Dr. Maguffin has extensive training in various manual therapy techniques, including functional manual therapy, and has worked with patients of all ages and stages of treatment.
