Our Story

Lotus Family Practice was founded by Dr. Catherine Krouse, a board-certified family physician who completed her family medicine residency at Central Maine Medical Center in June 2014. Dr. Krouse's vision was to create a family practice that focuses on connection, community, and finding the root of disease and suffering, rather than just masking symptoms. This led her to establish Lotus Family Practice, a place where she could practice medicine in a way that aligns with her values.

Our Services

Our direct primary care model allows us to offer you a more personalized and affordable approach to healthcare. By limiting the number of patients in our practice to around 600 per doctor, we ensure that you receive the time and attention you deserve. This means relaxed office visits, same-day appointments, and a doctor who is easily accessible through phone or email.

We don't accept insurance, which can actually save you money in the long run. By becoming a member, you can avoid high insurance premiums, especially if all you really need is catastrophic coverage. Plus, we offer drastically discounted generic medications and lab work, making your healthcare more affordable.

Dr. Catherine Krouse, the founder and DPC physician of Lotus Family Practice, is a board-certified family physician with a passion for holistic health. She believes that every person is unique in their experience and thus requires a unique path to health and healing. Dr. Krouse is committed to providing the tools and support that allow patients to heal on many levels.

Christine Willenbrock, our Family Nurse Practitioner, has experience caring for patients across the lifespan. She believes in spending time with patients to understand their unique experiences and is committed to working with them to find the best possible care.
