Our House Bistro

At Our House Bistro, we pride ourselves on serving up delicious, comforting meals that are both familiar and innovative. Our menu is inspired by classic comfort foods, but with a twist. We believe that dining should be an experience, not just a meal, and we strive to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere in all of our locations.

Our culinary approach is centered around the idea of "twisted comfort food." This means that we take traditional dishes and infuse them with fresh, exciting flavors and techniques. The result is a menu that is both comforting and exciting, with something for everyone.

Our House Bistro is a family-owned business, founded by Matthew Pearsall and his wife, Maggie Barch. Both Vermont natives, they were drawn to Winooski, Vermont by the community's friendly, small-town feel and the opportunity to be a part of the city's revitalization. In May 2010, they opened their first location at 36 Main Street in Winooski, and have since expanded to a second location in Plattsburgh, New York.

In addition to our restaurants, we also own Spice of Life Catering, a full-service catering company. We believe that every event, whether it's a wedding, corporate function, or family gathering, deserves delicious, memorable food. Our catering services offer a wide range of options, from appetizers and hors d'oeuvres to full-course meals and desserts.

Our Story

Our House Bistro was born out of a passion for good food and a desire to create a welcoming, community-focused dining experience. Matthew Pearsall and Maggie Barch, the owners of Our House Bistro, met while attending the University of Vermont and later worked together in several restaurants in the Burlington area. They decided to open their own restaurant, combining their shared love of comfort food with their desire to create a unique dining experience.

In May 2010, Our House Bistro opened its doors in Winooski, Vermont. The restaurant quickly became a favorite among locals and visitors alike, thanks to its creative menu and friendly, welcoming atmosphere. In April 2017, the couple expanded their business by opening a second location in Plattsburgh, New York.
