I have spent many years honing my skills and understanding the unique needs of my clients. I believe in providing personalized care and evaluation, which has enabled my clients to successfully pursue a healthy lifestyle and body weight.
Services Offered
I offer a range of services tailored to meet the unique nutritional needs of my clients. Here are some of the services I provide:
*Weight Loss Nutrition*
Weight problems can contribute to a range of health issues, including Asthma, Sleep Apnea, High Blood Pressure, High Cholesterol, Gallstones, Fatty Liver, Joint/Muscle pain, and slipped femoral epiphyses. I provide personalized weight loss plans, focusing on sustainable changes that promote long-term weight management. My approach is not about following a standard diet but rather about making lifestyle changes that are specific to your needs.
*Nutrition for Diabetes*
Diabetes is a disease that affects the body's ability to regulate blood sugar levels. With type 1 diabetes, the body does not produce insulin, while type 2 diabetes is characterized by insulin resistance. I provide nutritional education and guidance to help manage diabetes, focusing on balanced meals, portion control, and regular physical activity.
*Celiac Nutrition*
Celiac disease is an autoimmune disorder that affects the digestive system. When individuals with celiac disease consume gluten, their immune system responds by damaging the small intestine, leading to digestive problems. I provide nutritional guidance that is tailored to meet the unique needs of individuals with celiac disease, focusing on gluten-free meal options.
*Chronic Kidney Nutrition*
Chronic kidney disease affects the kidneys' ability to filter waste and excess fluid from the blood. As the kidneys fail, waste builds up in the body, leading to a range of health issues. I provide nutritional education and guidance tailored to meet the unique needs of individuals with chronic kidney disease. My approach focuses on managing fluid intake, protein intake, and other nutrients to support kidney health.
*IBS Nutrition*
Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) is a chronic disorder that affects the large intestine. IBS is characterized by abdominal pain, bloating, gas, and changes in bowel movements. I provide nutritional guidance that is tailored to meet the unique needs of individuals with IBS, focusing on dietary changes that can help manage symptoms.
*Autoimmune Nutrition*
Autoimmune diseases are conditions in which the immune system mistakenly attacks the body. I provide nutritional education and guidance tailored to meet the unique needs of individuals with autoimmune diseases, focusing on anti-inflammatory meal options that can help manage symptoms.
The Importance of Nutrition Counseling
-Did you know there is a BIG difference between a Dietitian and an individual who calls themselves a nutritionist? Get sound advice and education from a professional with a degree in dietetics.-
Over the last 27 years, I have built up quite a bit of experience with nutrition counseling for certain disease states. I have also had personal experience with some of these issues or I have a family history of many of these issues. My diet has changed completely since I started my nutrition degree in 1999, and it has changed even further since I was diagnosed as gluten intolerant over 5 years ago. I understand the frustrations, challenges, grieving, and mourning you may experience as you make the necessary changes to your dietary intake for the sake of your health and possibly for the sake of your weight as well.
I feel comfortable and skilled in assisting others where nutrition counseling is concerned for weight management, such as overweight and obesity, pre-diabetes, Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, chronic kidney disease, fatty liver disease, gluten intolerance and celiac disease, irritable bowel disease, polycystic ovarian syndrome, high cholesterol, high triglycerides, high blood pressure, hypothyroidism, and autoimmune diseases. Up-to-date education, as well as support and accountability, are crucial in helping you manage these conditions or possibly put them in remission.
