At San Jose Dance Theatre, we are committed to promoting the positive impact of dance in Silicon Valley. Our mission is to provide accessible performances, excellent training, creative outreach, and collaboration across the arts. We strive to illuminate the human experience while enriching an appreciation of movement and music to an expanding and diverse audience.

Our History

Founded in 1964 by Paul E. Curtis Jr.'s Los Gatos Academy of Dance and the West Valley Ballet Foundation, our organization has a rich history of providing classical ballet training to children from the age of four to the advanced pre-professional level. Many of our alumni have gone on to prominent university and conservatory programs, as well as successful careers in dance. Over the years, we have delighted local audiences with performances such as Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland, and Sleeping Beauty.

Our Services

At San Jose Dance Theatre, we offer a range of services designed to promote dance and the arts in our community. Our programs include:

• Ballet Classes: We provide ballet classes for dancers of all ages and skill levels, from children as young as four to advanced pre-professional dancers.
• Summer Programs: Our summer programs offer a unique opportunity for dancers to train and perform in a supportive and nurturing environment.
• Academy Open Division: Our Academy Open Division program is designed for dancers of all levels, providing a comprehensive dance education and training.
• Summer Intensive: Our Summer Intensive program is a more advanced program that focuses on intensive ballet training and performance.
• Adult Summer Intensive: Our Adult Summer Intensive program is designed specifically for adult dancers who want to improve their dance skills or simply have fun dancing.
• Golf Tournament Fundraiser: Our annual Golf Tournament Fundraiser is a fun and exciting way to support the arts while enjoying a day of golf and camaraderie.
