Our non-competitive dance arts studio and performing company offers a range of classes and programs designed to nurture, inspire, and cultivate the artistic potential of students of all ages and skill levels.

Our mission is to ignite the brilliance of every dancer while inspiring the pursuit of excellence. We strive to provide high-quality education through curriculum-based instruction and training, superb professional-quality performances, and collaboration with other arts organizations within our community. Our goal is to create a supportive and accepting environment where students can grow with confidence in their pursuit of the arts.

Our History

The Ballet Academy of Silicon Valley was first founded in 1977 as the Morgan Hill Ballet Company by Paula Valentine, Director Emeritus. The studio was established to provide dancers with more performing opportunities and to raise money for scholarships and charity. Upon Paula Valentine's retirement in 2004, the studio was turned over to Juliet Smith and became known as South Valley Dance Arts (SVDA), reflecting our commitment to bringing quality, art, and training to the entire South Valley. Today, we continue to build on our tradition of dedication to the arts and our community.

Our Faculty and Staff

Our faculty and staff are dedicated professionals with a passion for dance and education. Our teachers are registered with the Royal Academy of Dance and Cecchetti USA, and we offer the opportunity for students to participate in examinations for those interested in the Cecchetti graded system. Our staff is committed to providing a supportive and nurturing environment for our students, and we are proud of our reputation for excellence in dance education.

Our Curriculum

Our curriculum is designed to provide students with a comprehensive education in dance, including Classical Ballet, Modern, Ukrainian Folk Dance, and PBT. We offer classes for men and women, boys and girls, ages three and up, and our curriculum is tailored to meet the needs of students at all levels of skill and experience. We are committed to providing a well-rounded education that prepares our students for success in the arts and beyond.

Perfomrances and Events

At the Ballet Academy of Silicon Valley, we are proud of our reputation for producing high-quality performances and events. Our annual spring production is a highlight of the year, featuring talented students and professional dancers from around the world. We also offer a range of other performances and events throughout the year, including masterclasses, workshops, and community outreach programs.
