Let's find your next home

At the Center for Valued Living, PLLC, we are dedicated to providing comprehensive therapeutic and psychological services to individuals, couples, families, and groups. Our mission is to offer accessible, insurance-based mental health care to diverse clients across Colorado, with a focus on underserved and underrepresented populations. We serve individuals aged 3 and up, using anti-racist, neurodivergent-affirming, and queer-allied principles to create a powerfully reparative and healing environment.

Our Approach to Therapy

Our providers are committed to creating a safe, nurturing environment for our clients. We practice creative collaboration, emphasizing the importance of building strong therapeutic bonds with clients of all ages and backgrounds. Our therapists possess a keen understanding of how multiple cultural identities can influence our clients' experiences, particularly in how they are viewed by others or how they perceive themselves.

Focusing on Client Values and Behavioral Change

By supporting our clients through their struggles and encouraging them to make behavioral changes that align with their values, they can begin to move towards a more vital, meaningful, and purposeful existence. We also assist our clients in becoming better skilled at identifying and verbalizing their emotions, which helps foster effective communication and improve the quality of their connections with others.

Client Advocacy

As passionate advocates for our clients, we contribute to the greater good of society through our work. We often utilize community resources to provide referrals to complement the treatment received in our offices, striving to provide the highest standard of care for our clients.

Values

At the Center for Valued Living, we believe that everyone has a set of values that guide them in how they want to live their life. Values are the beliefs or principles that we hold that help us make decisions about how we want to act towards ourselves, others, and the world around us. When we define our values, we are describing how our lives would be most meaningful to us, according to our own standards. They are very personal and are not what others tell us we should do in life but instead how we choose to live.

What is Valued Living?

Valued living is having a notion about what we want out of life and then making a commitment to ourselves to take action in service of those values. Essentially, it is the most vital way in which we would choose to live. If we are to truly embrace valued living, we should be forever moving in the direction of our values. Our values are part of our journey, not a simple destination.

Reviews
Positive: Clients and their loved ones who have received kind, compassionate, and respectful care.
Negative: The institution has faced concerns about boundary crossing, poor supervision, and disregard for client well-being and respect.

Red Flags in Mental Health Care

Some mental health providers have raised concerns about boundary crossing, poor supervision, and disregard for client well-being and respect at the reviewed institution. Issues include being told that one is a "favored client" and being referred to as a peer by one's therapist, which is an inappropriate display of power. Additionally, therapists may exceed session times without considering client well-being, and there may be a lack of recorded sessions, making supervisory reviews potentially biased.

Autism Assessment

On the other hand, some clients have received kind and compassionate autism assessments at the institution. One reviewer appreciated the practitioner's knowledge of female autism presentation and believed the assessment to be fair.

Exceptional Leadership and Care

A colleague of the institution's founder praised the organization's commitment to training new clinicians and its evidence-based therapeutic interventions. The reviewer acknowledged the institution's exceptional standards of care and its leader's tireless advocacy for increased access to mental health care.

Gentle Care

One reviewer appreciated the respectful staff and patience shown towards their child during a visit.
