Our Story
At Montrio Fine Dining in Monterey, CA, our story begins with a passion for food, family, and community. Housed in the historic city's first firehouse built in 1910, our restaurant has been a staple in the downtown area for over 25 years. Our commitment to excellence has earned us numerous national and regional awards for excellence, including being voted "Best Restaurant in Monterey County" for 10 years.
Throughout the years, we have remained dedicated to our core values of sustainability, quality, and customer service. Our team has implemented eco-friendly practices such as near-zero waste operations, full recycling and composting, and renewable energy credits. Over 40% of the food served is organic, making us one of the greenest restaurants in Monterey.
Our Team
Our team is led by Executive Chef Kurt Bouchar, a celebrated chef with a passion for farm-to-fresh scratch cooking. Chef Kurt's culinary style is based on the philosophy of using the freshest ingredients, as local as possible, trained in classical French with Asian influences. His love of California, the ocean, and people brought him to Monterey, where he plans to refine his passion for farm-to-fresh scratch cooking and continue to build upon the Michelin-recognized Montrio Restaurant.
Our Services
We offer a wide range of services to make your dining experience exceptional. Our menu features inventive, locally sourced, and internationally inspired small plates and main courses. We also cater to private parties and offer semi-private dining areas for special occasions.
Reservations
Reservations are highly recommended, and can be made online or by calling us at (831) 648-8880. We take reservations for dinner, and will do our best to accommodate walk-ins. If the time you'd like is not available online, please give us a call and we'll do our best to slip you in.
Private Parties
We specialize in fine dining and would be delighted to host your private party or special occasion. Our semi-private dining areas can accommodate up to 60 guests for seated dinners, and up to 100 guests for cocktail receptions. Our team will work closely with you to create a customized menu and event plan that meets your needs.
