Account Management Issues
The reviewer, Riley Walsh, had a poor experience with ALCU due to account management issues. On November 21, 2022, they received a phone call informing them they were delinquent and needed to pay their account balance. When the reviewer provided proof of a previous payment, the institution initially denied receiving it. Despite receiving multiple calls stating the payment was missing, the institution later admitted it had been misplaced in the mail and applied the payment to the account.
Credit Reporting Issues
The reviewer's credit rating was negatively affected when ALCU filed a delinquency on their credit report on December 3, 2022. When the reviewer contacted ALCU to resolve the issue, they were told that it was not the representative's problem and that the issue would not be resolved for a couple of years. The reviewer requested to speak to a manager, but was informed that the institution did not have managers.
Concerns
The reviewer is concerned about ALCU's handling of payments and the potential impact on other customers. They believe that ALCU's actions have caused unnecessary credit damage and have not provided a remedy to fix the situation.
