Our Story
Lake Anne Nursery Kindergarten (LANK) was founded in 1965, under the "New Town Plan" created by Reston's founder, Robert E. Simon. Since then, LANK has been dedicated to providing exceptional preschool experiences in the Northern Virginia community. Our school has thrived in Reston by providing a welcoming, safe, and stimulating environment. Our history combined with innovation sets us apart and informs our approach to play-based learning. Our rich tradition is built on the joy it affords our young learners.

Our Programs
Our programs cater to children from 2 to 5 years of age, offering various programs tailored to meet the individual needs of each child. Our programs foster independence while encouraging cooperation, literacy, nature exploration, creative arts, and friendship. We support and nurture children as they grow and develop, providing a solid foundation for their educational journey.
Junior Preschool
Our junior preschool program is designed for children aged 2+ by September 30th. This program provides a nurturing environment that is almost like a home away from home. Your child's day will include storytelling, music, art, nature exploration, and lots of hugs! This first year of school provides a supportive environment that is almost like a home away from home.
Extended Day Program
EXPLOREandMORE is our extended day program, which provides an additional opportunity for children to play and learn for an extended period after their regular school day. This program includes lunch and opportunities to play, create, build, sing, dance, and learn in an open-ended, nurturing environment.
Summer Camps
Our summer camps for children aged 3-6 years provide a wonderful opportunity for play, exploration, and learning. We have exciting summer camp themes in store for June 2023. Registration usually begins in late February. Stay tuned for more details!
Pre-Kindergarten
Our pre-kindergarten program is designed for children aged 4+ by September 30th. This program strikes the right balance between school readiness and creative play. We integrate STEAM and offer individualized attention to students as they encounter new experiences and gain confidence the year before kindergarten.
