Equine Therapy & Adaptive Riding Programs
Sprout Center was founded in 2009 with a mission to transform lives through equine-supported activities and therapies. Our organization began as a grassroots initiative on a repurposed soybean farm in Loudoun County, Virginia, and has grown into a beacon of hope for individuals with disabilities. We specialize in adaptive riding, carriage driving, and equine-supported therapy programs designed to promote physical development, independence, and emotional well-being. Our team of certified instructors and carefully selected equines work in tandem to create personalized experiences that address each participant's unique needs. With over 8,997 annual volunteer service hours and 4,950 client service hours, we serve 185 individuals weekly through both therapeutic and recreational programs. Our facility accommodates diverse requirements, offering alternatives like carriage driving for those unable to ride due to weight, balance, or medical limitations. We maintain rigorous safety protocols, requiring physician evaluations and documented medical histories for all participants. Our horses are specifically chosen for their temperament and movement patterns to optimize therapeutic outcomes. Through partnerships with horses, we foster community connections and personal growth opportunities that extend beyond traditional therapy settings. Our programs include competitive pathways through the Interscholastic Equestrian Association and various group activities that build social support networks. Sprout Center remains committed to its founding principle of building from the ground up, focusing on growth and empowerment for all participants.

Participants develop balance, coordination, and confidence while forming therapeutic connections with horses.
Equine Therapy
Equine-supported therapy combines clinical approaches with horse movement to improve physical and emotional well-being. Our programs address specific therapeutic goals through structured interactions that promote sensory integration and motor skill development in a natural setting.
