Angelina Federal Employee Credit Union

Angelina Federal Employees Credit Union (AFECU) is a not-for-profit financial institution that has been serving its members since 1956. We are a member-owned cooperative, dedicated to providing quality financial services to our members. Our main goal is to help our members achieve financial success and stability.

As a credit union, we operate differently than traditional banks. Instead of generating profits for shareholders, we return our profits to our members in the form of lower loan rates, higher interest on deposits, and lower fees. Our members are also our owners, which means that we are accountable to them and committed to meeting their financial needs.

Who Can Join?

Our field of membership includes federal employees and their families who live or work in the following counties in Texas: Angelina, Nacogdoches, San Augustine, Sabine, San Jacinto, and Jasper. We also serve members of the following groups: federal employees who work in the Lufkin U.S. Post Office and the Lufkin Federal Building; civilian employees of the Department of Defense who work at the Lufkin Army Recruiting Station; and members of the Lufkin Federal Credit Union.

Once you become a member of AFECU, you can remain a member for life, even if you move or change jobs. Your family members are also eligible to join, regardless of where they live or work.

Our Board of Directors is made up of volunteers who are elected by our members to represent their interests and oversee the credit union's operations.

We also have a list of our locations and hours, as well as our contact information. Our main office is located at 900 Pershing Avenue, Lufkin, TX 75904. Our phone number is (936) 632-7691 or (936) 632-8829. Our lobby is open Monday-Thursday from 9:00 am- 4:00 pm, and Friday from 9am to 5:30pm. Our drive-thru is open Monday-Friday from 7:30 am - 5:30 pm.

ATM Locations and CO-OP ATMs

We have a network of ATMs located throughout our service area. We also participate in the CO-OP ATM network, which gives our members access to over 30,000 surcharge-free ATMs nationwide. Our ATMs are available 24/7 for your convenience.

Holiday Closing Dates

We are closed on the following holidays: New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents' Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. If a holiday falls on a Saturday, we are closed on the preceding Friday. If a holiday falls on a Sunday, we are closed on the following Monday.

We offer competitive rates on our share and certificate accounts, with terms ranging from 3 months to 5 years. Our members can earn higher interest on their savings by choosing longer terms.

We offer a variety of loans to our members, including auto and RV loans, MasterCard credit card, home equity loans, personal loans, and other loans. Our loan rates are competitive and our application process is fast and easy.

Savings

We offer several types of savings accounts, including share accounts, share certificates, IRAs, Christmas Club, and Regal Eagle Kids Club. Our members can choose the account that best fits their saving goals.

Direct Deposit, Checking, and Debit Cards

We offer direct deposit, checking, share draft checking, and MasterCard debit cards. Our members can access their accounts conveniently and securely.

Other Services
