We're proud to have been serving up delicious seafood and good times since 1979, when our original location, nestled in the heart of a small fishing community in Orange Beach, first opened its doors. Back then, the area was a far cry from the bustling vacation spot it is today. Our founders saw an opportunity to create a relaxed, welcoming spot for fishermen and locals alike to gather after a day on the water. The simple bar and grill concept, offering casual fare and breathtaking waterfront views, quickly gained popularity.

Growing Together

Over the years, Tacky Jacks has grown alongside Orange Beach, evolving into a beloved institution with multiple locations across the Alabama Gulf Coast. George Skipper, a seasoned entrepreneur, purchased Tacky Jacks in 1987 and instilled a spirit of dedication to quality, service, and a fun, family-friendly atmosphere that continues to define our brand today. In 2005, Tacky Jacks expanded to Fort Morgan, offering stunning views overlooking Mobile Bay. Our Gulf Shores location, situated along the Intracoastal Waterway, opened its doors in 2011, further solidifying our presence as a premier dining destination on the Gulf Coast.
