At Mudra Dance Studio, we believe that passion is the only prerequisite for learning the beautiful rhythms and movements of Indian classical, contemporary, and folk dances. Our mission is to create a community that embraces diversity, individuality, and harmony among people of diverse cultural, educational, and financial backgrounds.
Our Story
From humble beginnings in a basement with three students, Mudra started in 1993 and has grown to over 100 students today. We became a non-profit organization in 2001, with a mission to celebrate East Indian cultural diversity using the medium of dance and music. Our students learn the beautiful rhythmic movement of the North Indian classical dance "Kathak" (dancing a story) with folk and modern elements.
Our Vision
Our vision is to enable any person, regardless of caste, creed, color, race, religion, nationality, economic, orientation, educational, and social status, to learn the classical, contemporary, and folk dances and performing arts of India and participate freely and fully without any reservations in the celebrations of life and diversity through the universal language of dance and music.
