Empowering creativity and confidence through movement
Our Story
At DancEsteem, we are passionate about empowering young dancers to develop their own identity and creativity through movement. Our mission is to provide a nurturing environment where children can express themselves freely, build confidence, and develop self-esteem. Our founder and director, Takami Craddock, has been dedicated to achieving this mission for over two decades. We are proud to have grown from a small program to a thriving community of over 200 families in the San Francisco area.
Our Philosophy
At DancEsteem, we believe that every child is a natural dancer. We encourage imagination and creativity through movement, teaching our students to develop their own body awareness and movement vocabulary. Our classes are designed to be fun, engaging, and challenging, while promoting teamwork, constructive feedback, and respect. Our diverse program offers four types of dance styles: Creative Movement, Ballet, Contemporary, and Hip-hop.
Our Programs
We offer a range of programs to cater to different age groups and skill levels. Our programs include:
- Creative Movement and Improvisation: This program is designed for young children aged 3-5 years, focusing on creative movement, body awareness, and improvisation.
- Ballet and Pointe: Our ballet classes emphasize technique, musicality, coordination, strength, and flexibility. We offer pointe work for students who have achieved a high level of technique.
- Contemporary: This program combines various dance styles, emphasizing dynamics, muscular movement, and steps. Our contemporary classes encourage collaboration, teamwork, and individual expression.
- Hip-hop: Our hip-hop program focuses on rhythm, movement textures, musicality, and expression. We welcome movers and groovers of all levels, encouraging individuality and creativity.
