Our Story

Pope Valley Winery is a historic winery that has been a part of Napa Valley's winemaking legacy since 1897. Founded by Ed Haus as Burgundy Winery & Olive Oil Factory, it has undergone many transformations over the years. In 1997, the Eakle family purchased the winery and revived it under the name Pope Valley Winery. Today, it is run by siblings David Eakle and Diana Eakle Hawkins, who are dedicated to preserving the winery's history while bringing its winemaking program into the modern era.

From the vineyards to the tasting room, every member of our team works together to ensure the highest quality in our wines and exceptional customer service. Our team includes owner and general manager Diana Eakle Hawkins, owner and vintner David Eakle, and director of winemaking Jean Hoefliger. Each member brings their unique expertise to the table, making Pope Valley Winery a truly special place.

Our Vineyards

Our vineyards are hand farmed and located in the northeastern corner of Napa Valley. This unique area provides the perfect conditions for growing a variety of grapes, including those used in our award-winning wines. Our focus on estate-grown grapes allows us to create wines that truly reflect our story and the region's heritage.
