HERO House NW is a non-profit organization championing mental health recovery and awareness in Washington State. We believe in the power of community to support individuals living with serious mental illness to thrive.

Our Vision

We envision a world where people living with serious mental illness thrive in communities of hope and opportunity. We call those communities Clubhouses!

Our Mission

Our mission is to:

• Facilitate the expansion of Clubhouses in Washington State.
• Advocate for better mental health services and policies.
• Provide support and resources for people with serious mental illness and their loved ones.

What We Do

We are actively involved in various initiatives to achieve our vision and mission. Some of our key activities include:

1. Clubhouse Development and Support

• Supporting the development and operation of three established Clubhouses in Washington State.
• Providing training and technical assistance to clubhouse staff and volunteers.
• Connecting people with serious mental illness to local Clubhouse resources.

2. Advocacy and Policy Change

• Raising awareness about the importance of community-based mental health services.
• Advocating for legislation and policy changes that support recovery-oriented care.
• Engaging in partnerships with other organizations and stakeholders.

3. Education and Community Outreach

• Organizing and participating in community events to foster awareness and understanding.
• Disseminating information about mental illness and Clubhouse programs.
• Connecting with individuals and organizations to offer support and encouragement.

4. Research and Innovation

• Collaborating with researchers and innovators to develop and implement new and effective interventions.
• Sharing best practices and lessons learned through publications, conferences, and workshops.

5. Collaboration and Partnerships

• Partnering with organizations across sectors to address the complex needs of people with serious mental illness.
• Collaborating on research projects and advocacy initiatives.
• Engaging volunteers and the community in our work.
