Mental Health America of Illinois (MHAI) has been a leading advocate for mental health in Illinois since 1909. Our mission is to promote mental health, prevent mental illness, and improve the care and treatment of individuals suffering from mental and emotional disorders. We focus on educating, advocating, and informing the public about mental health issues and working towards creating a society where mental health is valued and supported.
Our Story
MHAI has been dedicated to promoting publicly-funded mental health services in Illinois for adults and children. We believe that mental health services should be affordable and accessible to everyone. Our advocates work tirelessly to push for legislation that supports mental health, including eliminating medication Step Therapy and supporting Insurance Parity. We also work with policymakers and other non-profit groups to advocate for improved mental health services.
