At Moderation Brewing, we're proud to be your downtown destination for exceptional beer, brewing community, and making history. Our taproom and brewery, located in the heart of Brunswick, Maine, is a revival of the traditional neighborhood breweries that thrived before Prohibition.

Our Story

In the late 19th century, these local establishments were beacons of community, gathering places where friends and neighbors would come together to enjoy a freshly brewed beer and good conversation. At Moderation Brewing, we're passionate about reviving those time-honored traditions, bringing people together over a shared love of great beer and local ingredients.

Our Brewery

Our brewery and taproom are housed in a historic building that dates back to at least 1875, originally serving as an American Express office for the town of Brunswick. We like to think that our building has seen its fair share of moonshine and bootleggers over the years, and we're proud to be carrying on that tradition of independence and community spirit.

Our Beers

At Moderation Brewing, we're dedicated to crafting beer that highlights local ingredients and unusual yeasts. Our co-founders, Mattie Daughtry and Philip Welsh, are passionate about brewing beer that's not only delicious but also showcases the best of Maine's local agriculture. We utilize a variety of unique brewers yeasts originating from Norway, called kveik, to create truly exceptional beers that are both traditional and innovative.

Our Services

We offer a wide range of services to our customers, including:

• Taproom hours: Come visit us in our taproom, open Tuesday to Sunday, and enjoy a freshly poured beer in our cozy, historic setting.
• Curbside pickups: Order online and pick up your favorite beers at your convenience.
• Farmers market schedule: Find us at the Brunswick Farmers Market every Tuesday and Friday from 8 am to 1 pm, May to October.
• Trivia nights: Join us for trivia nights, every other Tuesday, and test your knowledge over a pint of your favorite beer.
• Beer garden: Our beer garden is open all year round, pending crazy weather.
