Transform Your Life with Yoga
Yoga is a versatile and multifaceted practice that holds different meanings for various individuals in contemporary American culture. At East Eagle Yoga (EEY), we teach Classical Hatha Yoga from a lineage that originated with Shri Yogendra, who established the Yoga Institute in Santa Cruz Mumbai, India. In the early 1900s, yoga was primarily practiced by yogis who had dedicated their lives to the discipline. These yogis were hermits living in isolation in the Himalayan mountains, relinquishing worldly possessions and material comforts to engage in yoga and meditation. However, Shri Yogendra believed that regular people with families, jobs, and other commitments could benefit from practicing yoga, and thus, he devoted his life to introducing yoga to these "householders" and demonstrating its value.
East Eagle Yoga was founded by Nicole Chemi and Joe Finnerty in 2005. Over the past 15 years, they have cultivated a strong community of yogis who, through regular practice on their mats and self-reflection, have become healthier, happier, and experienced less suffering in their daily lives. Over 50 students have graduated from their 200-hour Yoga Teacher & Self Transformation Training, and many have gone on to teach yoga themselves. Currently, Jennifer Green serves as the owner and a teacher at East Eagle Yoga. She is a long-time student of East Eagle Yoga and graduated from the East Eagle Yoga teacher training program under Coleen Weir and Sara Drew.
At East Eagle Yoga, we firmly believe that developing a yoga practice leads to a more fulfilled and purposeful life. In a busy world, EEY is here for you to find peace within yourself, maintain the rest of your life with more ease, and do it with a community of like-minded yogi friends.
Jennifer Green, RYT 500, E-RYT 500, YACEP
Jennifer was initially drawn to the practice of Yoga as a way to take a break from the bustle of daily life. She discovered that what began as a physical practice on the mat blossomed into a self-transformation journey that encompasses mindfulness, breathwork, and meditation. Yoga has consistently brought stability and peace to every aspect of Jennifer's life.
After completing her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training at East Eagle Yoga, Jennifer continued to explore and deepen her practice. She became an RYT 500 and Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider (YACEP). Currently, Jennifer is passionate about continuing the Yoga lineage of East Eagle Yoga and does that by leading the yearly 200 Hour Teacher Training Program at East Eagle Yoga.
